theSTART @ theSAiNT 10.02.01 Doors @ 8pm, theSTART @ 10pm. gorgeous full moon. Emilie, David, Dan and me....ROAD TRIP!
Words fail me! but i'll attempt to try to describe.
Amazing! I don't think any other word (that i can think of right now) that could better describe lastnight. Absolutely amazing! We had so much shit to do we didn't leave till after 6, which in turn i guess was good because there was no traffic, so we made it down there by 8ish, theSTART were to go on at 10ish.
so when we got there the bus was parked right infront of the club. The first person i saw was Dan (the manager)so we went up to him to ask about the flyer thing, then asked where Aimee was. She was on the bus. We walked back over to the car to check the tires (they've been having issues), on the way to the car i peeked into the bus and saw aimee, waved to her, she waved back with the cutest smile on her face. It only took us a minute at the car before we turned back. As soon as we touched the sidewalk Miss Echo leaped out of the bus, and greeted us. I introduced her to my sister and david, and explained to her that my sis is only 17 so between her and Dan (manager) we managed to get her in...and me on the list so i didnt have to pay ;o) hehe.
Once inside i knew the evening was gonna be more amazing than i could ever imagine. It was a really really small bar. like i said before, amazing. while the first band was setting up aimee and i exchanged friendly words, about the tower benefit thingie, about the new garbage cd (then said "damn, i should have emailed you to bring me one and i would have gave you the money for it"..yes aimee, damn indeed!). The first band played, then theSTARt had to get ready cos they were the 2nd act up.
after everything was all ready for our listening enjOIment i was only about 5 feet away from Aimee, 2 feet from the stage, possibly a little less at times. My god, they're amazing live. When i saw them at weezer couldnt hold a stick compared to how they were last night.
About half way through i see aimee looking at me and smiling, so naturally i smiled back and started to laugh. Then she starts to say "im going to dedicate another song, this one is for
All the energy they put out flowed all through the crowd of the little bar, who by the end of the set were screaming for more!
after the set Dan was selling shirts & cds for $10 each, then asked me to man the booth while he ran outside. When he came back we all went outside to cool down (it was very hot inside). After about 5 minutes or so aimee came back out from the bus, saying that she didn't feel to well, probably dehydration. We spoke some more, then i asked if the could take Eno out so we could pet him, so that she did and plopped him right in my arms. He's so tiny and adorable.
Eno.The night was pretty much over after that. We said our good-byes and "see ya at CB's" We got into the car, each of us with the biggest smiles on our faces. All of us for different reasons, some because we had just seen theSTART just inches away, others because they just realized "wow, i met aimee echo"...well probably both. Before we started the 2hr drive, we stopped at a dunkin donuts, i got a muffin which i then realized i was too tired to eat.
ya know, all this amazing-ness and none of us had a camera!
